Great news this week for the albums charts!
First of all, so happy that FF have killed Noel Gallagher 's ego but ending his stir of number ones albums!
Second, congrats to Sophie Ellis Bextor for having a top ten debut with Hana at 8! It's always good to have SEB doing music
And finally, Louise having an almost top ten debut, at 11, great achievement for her and her GH album after 30 years career!!!!

Well done to Baxter Dury for his highest charting album thus far

Do you not think we could do something with all these Greatest Hits albums? Maybe a separate chart for collections like those. It's really clogging up the chart. I appreciate Eminem, Abba, Fleetwood Mac etc. are all fantastic in their own right but it's stopping some of the new blood breaking through.

Do you know how few albums are sold these days if you take out all the older albums and compilations the sales would be embarrassing once you got outside the Top 5 and even there you can get a number 1 with a pretty mediocre fan base sales these days. The albums days are numbered anyway so why make its chart any more meaningless while the format still exists.
A sales chart is to list just that sales take that away and what would be the point. IMHO the chart was never the same when they removed compilations as many genres that dominated music for significant periods such as trance, hard house, UK garage sold massive amounts of compilations but there's no record of it if you look at the artists album chart for those eras.

So Madonna spends a 28th week with her remix album inside the TOP 100 re-entering at #97 this week.
This breaks her tie with JLO for 3 chart records:

- Most weeks in the charts for remiix album by a Solo Artist ever in UK
- Most weeks in the charts for a remix album by a Female Artist ever in UK
- Most weeks in the charts for a remix album in the XXI century

Way to go Madonna!
Amazing how she is still breaking chart records in 2023!
There haven't been anyone like her in the charts ever!

And Madonna is talented unlike JLow. I'll never forget South Park's excellent depiction of her. Aye Aye Aye!

Excellent to see British listeners have taste! This is their first Number 1 album since the passing of Taylor Hawkins. This is definitely among my favourite Foo Fighters album since Wasting Light.
As for Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, honestly this is the most disappointing albums of the year so far, one of the blandest albums yet and this is coming from someone that enjoyed their past albums.

They killed him by making him have the toxic injection to remain as part of the band

What a shame Noel broke his run of number one albums for the horrible FIghters.
