FUTURE NOSTALGIA

The album that turned Dua Lipa into a superstar, Future Nostalgia, released 27 March 2020, was a poised and potent second studio album for the British-Albanian pop singer, heralding her long-awaited ascendance into pop's upper echelon.
Future Nostalgia's lead single Don't Start Now, which peaked at Number 2, was the starting horn that both kicked off the era and ushered in a new decade of disco-inspired hits, helping to lead a new revival of the once-dead genre alongside Blinding Lights by The Weeknd and Say So by Doja Cat.
The Flashdance-inspired Number 3 hit Physical showed off Future Nostalgia's extreme, ambitious maximalism, while the viral Top 5 single Levitating showed Dua's hard-earned command of the dancefloor, a place she was previously hesitant to conquer during her debut album campaign.
Despite being denied Number 1 in its first week by 5 Second Of Summer's Calm, Future Nostalgia proved to be a rare modern-day slow burn LP, becoming Dua's first chart-topping album in the UK during its second week of release, and helping to turn her into one of the most reliable hitmakers during lockdown.
