Yay 'When I'm Gone' just hit a new peak, and is this close to finally debut on Billboard. Hopefully it'll keep gaining and put an end to Katy's streak of criminally underrated singels.
Talking about gaining, I did not expect that jump for 'Brave', good for Ella!
So many highlights this week, can't wait for the next chart!

Top 10 sadly mid, need Beg For You to rise next week

Would be great if there was no ACR or three track rule on the charts because it is wrong that 'Easy On Me' is on ACR again and that she didn't get an album bomb for her latest album. Hope OCC are ashamed of themselves. The charts are not what they seem anymore. Without these rules, the charts would still be better.

Easy on me and Do It To It have the honor of being the first songs listed on ACR in 2022 😂

I wished they had scrapped ACR and the three track rule already.

I lived the time of the original "Down Under" by Men at Work... And this rendition doesn't honor it at all... I disliked it since it was aired, I don't really see why has it climbed so high... There have been much better renditions of other old songs that don't get nearly that far... Right now we have a new album by superstar Diana Ross and not one song is in the charts.. What's going on with English people? "All is well" & "The answer's always love" deserve to be in the charts, and even "If the world just dance" that reminds us of "Jerusalema" could be a good hit... I sincerelly prefer the "UK singles chart" than the "Billboard hot 100" from the USA... But since the new year begun this list (UK) is deceptioning me... A couple of songs save the chart, like the jump of Ella Henderson and "Brave", or the # 5 spot "Where are you now" by Calum Scott.... Much can be said about this chart, but mostly negative stuff... I'll wait for next Friday and see if things get better... My regards to my friends: Piran, Coolocelot, Thierry Henon, Grank Griffin, and Mixra.. Hello, you guys!!! Hope you are having a great weekend, especially you, Piran... Greetings from Honduras!!! ☺️

i thought i was the only one thinking this! rina is so underrated, im surprised nothing from her debut became a hit. i mean, xs, bad friend and lucid had “top 40 smash” written all over them! love her. hope you’re ok btw. 🧡

avatar

5

hi there! i am great and hope you are too....i agree with you regarding RINA but unfortunately so many artists nowadays are so underrated!! i don't know if you ever heard of the talented german artist ZOE WEES? OMG, a pop gem!! She sings only in English, has an amazing voice and her first single CONTROL was a success in some European countries but we never heard of her in THE UK!! Have a great Sunday my friend!

So impressed and so happy to see CALUM SCOTT having so much success right now...Love of course "WHERe ARE YOU NOW?" and so glad to see him after 17 weeks in the chart getting a new peak and a Top 5 nonetheless! Love his voice... reminds me of the talented TOM GRENNAN...

Hey I'm new here. Please don't take me seriously, I'm just a guy who loves music a lot & is a regular chart watcher who likes to give my thoughts on music of all kinds & what is charting. I am only doing this for fun.

Anyway, here's some things I have to say about this particular chart week:
• Second week at Number 1 for We Don't Talk About Bruno. My thoughts on it being the first Disney song to reach number 1 in the UK? I'm alright with it. Maybe it's my love of Disney movies & also finally seeing Encanto recently (really enjoyed it, a lot better than I expected) but it's a catchy song with some amazing compositional moments & solid performances overall. Not my favourite Disney song ever (that honour goes to Under the Sea) but it is still pretty good. Much prefer to see this at number 1 than abcdefu.
• Easy on Me has now gone on ACR; Even though it had an impressive run & I do like the song a lot, I do feel kinda happy it's falling off now, cuz I don't wanna get sick of it & end up disliking it.
• Where Are You Now cracks the top 5! It's grown on me so much over the past couple of weeks; just an overall brilliant sounding track with a very good performance coming from Calum Scott. Happy it's gonna stick around, possibly become one of the biggest hits of 2022.
• The Family Madrigal, Make Me Feel Good & Down Under have all cracked the top 10! The Family Madrigal is a fun catchy number that opens & sets the scene for the movie very well. Make Me Feel Good isn't a stand out or original track at all, but it is still a solid house track with some nice keys. And as for Down Under, while I'm overall conflicted on what I think of Men At Work's iconic song getting a remake, I'm more interested in the fact that a drum & bass track has become this successful in 2022 & because of this, more drum & bass songs are charting; I'm just so happy this genre is gaining mainstream popularity again.
• Mr Brightside has now spend 300 weeks on the charts! I still don't understand how it's managed to build up as much momentum as it has, but it's always been a great song & a true noughties classic, so I don't care.
• Brave & Used to This are climbing! Really hope the latter gets in the top 40, one of the best dance songs I've heard in ages! It sounds so sweet, has a great atmosphere & is so groovy & well-produced; had it on repeat a lot lately & I'm happy it's Wilkinson's first charting song in years. I guess I could kind of credit Down Under for this. As for Brave, I just find it OK - pretty good lyrics but musically forgettable.
• Re-Entries for To the Moon, Don't Wake Me Up & Get Into It (Yuh). To the Moon has a great beat & is just an insanely fun catchy banger, Don't Wake Me Up is a forgettable bland slice of dance-pop/tropical house that I don't really have anything to say about (although it's at least better than the Chris Brown song of the same name) & Get Into It (Yuh)... is awful, I can't stand it at all, Jesus it's so bad.
• Do It To It is also finally on ACR & almost out of the Top 40 & unlike with Easy on Me, holy I'm so glad it is; it was one of my least favourite charting songs of last year, mainly because of it's poorly used sample & the atrocious production; I don't even like the original song that much, but it deserved better than this.
• Tell Me Something Good has completely fallen out of the Top 40; it was one of my favourite hits of 2021, a fantastically produced banger with some amazing musical elements & it does the original a tonne of justice; I'll even go as far as to say it's even better than the original & I hope Ewan doesn't end up a one hit wonder, cuz I've checked out his other songs & they are really good too, so I'm pretty devastated it fall hard! IMO, it really should have reached the top 10.
