Real shame to hear of the passing of Jeff Beck at 78 - he played in the Yardbirds in the 60's alongside greats such as Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page and released numerous solo albums - known by anybody who was somebody at the time - in the film 'Blow Up' at the gig in the disco it's his guitar that gets smashed - he has recently put together an album called 18 which has not been out that long - also he was the singer on 'Hi Silver Lining' - I'm sure there will be many tributes from stars like Rod Stewart and Elton John - Sad News Indeed - R.I.P. Jeff ...

It is absolutely wonderful to see karma work so well. Some claim it was over for Michael Jackson. When hatred fills their angry hearts, the only one that wins is Michael. May he rise to re capture the solid gold crown!

Chart clogged up with Best of/Hits collections. Years ago the album chart became closed up with Now and other compilation albums- a decision was taken to create a stand alone compilation chart- maybe its time for a similar stand alone Hits/best of chart? It would create over 30+ spots in the current chart to feature artists who are being crowded out by legacy acts like Fleetwood Mac/ABBA etc and allow the other acts more of a chance to be officially recognised

agree with this 100%, the weeknd up to number 3 with something that isn’t a studio album is confusing imo. i swear fleetwood mac went back into the top 5 on a slower week last year too!

you could argue that these greatest hits albums are compilations and all

That's common in January. I'm more surprised by just 4 records in the top 75 have a peak below the top 10. 3 of those are greatest hits.

Karma certainly bites when both the nasty Beatles and Madonna fail on the current charts. Low sales are not a cause for celebration in the real world of towering pop giants. With gladness in my heart, I am pleased to report that Michael Jackson's sales have continued to skyrocket within the first weeks into the new year. He has regained his foothold on the global spectrum. It looks like some angry and bitter people are forced to eat crow. We all know who these folks are. Sorry, we must count the real numbers on the official charts, and reject the fantasies of a few. The much hyped up re re reissue issue of The Beatles "Revolver" is now off the charts, worldwide. The Michael Jackson estate still collects royalties on every unit The Beatles continue to dribble out. That is the coop. Michael Jackson wins either way. Congrats to both Abba and Elton John for amazingly returning to the top ten in 2023. The brand new year is upon us and the artists of superiority must follow Michael as the number one inspiration of our time. It is so exciting to watch the KING of kings and queens do his magic. With the Christmas holidays behind us, we must ask Cliff Richard to release a regular pop album to extend his incredible British reign. The future looks bright, indeed.

Absolutely. It's the Madonna hater with another account. Looks like we'll have to block this one too.

NO! He shouldn't be blocked, he's entitled to his opinion, just like I'm entitled to disagree with it. I'm sick of this cancel culture BS.

Thass juss wot I think n all nave done the same. Nothin wrong with sayin you don't like an artist in their music on ere but iss the abuse insults n ate speech at Madonna cos of age n gender I reckon n all from wot I read before, Beatles spect there are more n all, which aint right sheer atred.

You almost had me fooled that your comments were serious ... until the last-but-one sentence!

i read this comment in sheldon’s voice and that’s not a good thing 😂 you really did not have to call the beatles “nasty” and absolutely slander them tho, you don’t have to like them but to completely disrespect their legacy is ignorant. a lot of these artists wouldn’t even be here if it weren’t for them. not even michael jackson

I simply claim that Cliff Richard's amazing comeback with his Christmas album can continue if he follows it up with a regular pop album. If he does this, his future is indeed very bright. You do not make a bit of logical sense with your bitter comment. Someone is obviously jealous of Cliff's continuous success. When artists work hard to break records in the recording industry, they should be awarded, not ignored.
