JOE MCELDERRY

Joe McElderry was born June 16, 1991 in South Shields, Tyne & Wear and is an English singer and songwriter. Joe McElderry came to fame when he won the sixth series of the ITV show The X Factor in 2009. Joe McElderry has scored a number of hit songs, however his debut, a version of Miley Cyrus’ The Climb, was a million-selling UK Official Singles Chart Number 1. Joe McElderry diversified from pop when in 2011 he appeared on, and won, the talent show Popstar to Operastar, and released a couple of classical-infused albums. Joe McElderry has since made his musical theatre debut, appearing in various productions of Tommy and Joseph’s Technicolour Dreamcoat.
