I think it's a lot more mainstream than his other stuff, even more so than , but it's still quite experimental in parts. Overall it's a good listen, my favourites being Die Hard, United In Grief and Purple Hearts with a special mention to Auntie Diaries for its message, however I wouldn't pit it as album of the year.

Hey guys! What was your favorite song at the ESC apart from the amazing SAM RYDER? Mine has to be the Swedish artist: CORNELIA JAKOBS!! i mean HOLD ME CLOSER is such an amazing track! You might need to listen to it a few times to really get into it but MY GOD: love it!! Can't stop listening to it for the last 7 days!! Number 1 in Sweden BTW! Wish she could have made the Top 40 in THE UK!!

(I can´t dare to mention them in here, except to congratulate UK for its marvelous Space man, Sam Ryder!! the best song for me, without calling off for the Ukranian song that´s fantastic, but I preffer Sam anyway!!

Feel Like Sh*t has been my favourite of the rollouts so far and with each release there's decline in how much I like them actually lol

C

Conor

3

i do like feels like sh*t a lot, but i do really love the upbeat ones, shes all i wanna be is actually my song of the year so far and what would you do is my new #1 this week! I've also commented on your latest crownnote chart! :)

C

CJtheDJ

Ballads do tend to be my style so I'm not surprised feel like sh*t is my favourite but she's all i wanna be is a really good pop song too. What days do you update your crownnote charts I'll try and comment weekly on them :)

C

Conor

I can tell you that it is the most overrated song the year in fact. One Dance is probably one of the most overrated songs of the 21st century in the UK.

I gave it a listen and i enjoyed it! Its a nice track! catchy groove to it, i could 100% hear it in a club scene of a netflix show!

First Top 40 hit for My Chemical Romance since 2010! 😍

Glad to see finally them back with new music after eight years. :)

avatar

🧡 oliviasnoodles 🍜

2

as refreshing as it is to see my chem in the top 40, whoever mastered the song needs to be jailed for war crimes. (fantano’s words, not mine)

i really want to like it, but the mix and master is sh*t 😭

avatar

Piran

2

Yeah, the song’s probably not one I’ll revisit, but it’s still cool see them with a Top 40 hit in 2022! 😂

avatar

Karl Macnaughton

1

Not the best but somehow still got in. Rock's glacially slow return to the chart nevertheless continues?

avatar

Piran

0

Yeah, I guess it’s another win for rock music coming back to the charts! :P

avatar

Piran

RIP Vangelis! 🙏

‘Chariots Of Fire’ was an iconic masterpiece.

I hope it can re-enter next week, but ACR is fairly likely to prevent it! :(

avatar

Luis Gerardo Amador

4

I love that song! R.I.P. Vangelis...you went to Heaven in your Chariot of Fire...

avatar

Very inspirational instrumental. :)

While Sam Ryder is obviously my highlight of the week, I have to send massive congratulations to Kalush Orchestra for their victory in Turin, for as expected as it was. :)

Ukraine won the Eurovision Song Contest, now I just pray that they can win this war! 🙏

avatar

🧡 oliviasnoodles 🍜

5

don’t we all? the war is unnecessary

avatar

Piran

4

Literally! It’s not doing either side absolutely any favours. :/

avatar

Luis Gerardo Amador

3

Based in your comments, as usual, dear Piran!! war nowadays is never necessary, political leaders must give up on it as an option ...it never solves any issues...

avatar

Henk Brugge

3

It's rather sad in this ESC edition music came second and politics first ...

avatar

Piran

1

I think Ukraine would’ve still had a chance at winning even if it weren’t for the invasion, but as long as there’s a televote, politics will always have some influence in the overall Eurovision results. :/

avatar

Piran

1

Exactly! The war is only causing damage to both sides right now. :/

avatar

Damián

1

Absolutely agree

avatar

Damián

3

Share same thoughts buddy, but I think UK or Spain entry should've won the competition

avatar

Damián

2

Are you joking? You being a Latin texting Churchill?? While he was one of the allies with the US to allow military goverments in Latin America? Start reading history buddy!

avatar

Luis Gerardo Amador

2

You are right, Damian... I even thought about it,,,probably I just wanted to highlight the phrase in itself, I should´ve not mention him, but just the meaning of never giving up...sorry about it!

avatar

Luis Gerardo Amador

2

Chanel´s song is simply great, its choreography is spectacular!! yeah, Spain could´ve won, and I already mention that Sam Ryder was (at least for me) The absolute winner with Space Man!!

avatar

Luis Gerardo Amador

2

Kalush Orchestra, wow, that flute performance is epic!! absolutetely loved it!! I think despite the fact of the invasion their song deserved the win.

avatar

Piran

1

The flute part was incredible! :O

avatar

Damián

1

That's ok, I didn't want to be rude with you, gracias por la aclaración! Saludos!

avatar

Damián

1

I agree Gerardo, Chanel had the complete combo, song, look, dance, choreo....she was the winner. It reminded me of Elena Foureira's Fuego being robbed the first place

avatar

Luis Gerardo Amador

1

Yeah! Elena, unforgettable perfect performance, I had forgotten about her, thanks Damian, for bringing her back to me!! 😊

avatar

Luis Gerardo Amador

1

Pal, you were not rude at all, whenever you are expressing a truth the right thing to do is ponder in it, and correct if necessary... but you were and are right about this issue 😇

avatar

Damián

Your welcome friend!! Greetings!!

Who watched Eurovision last week and what did you think? Lights Off deserved way better but good to see some tracks debut here from that.

M

Mijail

2

Agree, I think Lights off deserved better. Probably being the first act didn't help.

avatar

Piran

6

I know some people might be disappointed that Sam just missed out here (myself included), but remember that #2 is the best result we’ve had for a UK entry in both the charts & at Eurovision itself this century.

Still incredibly proud of him for everything he’s achieved in the past week! 🇬🇧

avatar

Damián

2

Absolutely agree, excellent performance for the UK this time. You were top 5 of the bottom since a decade ago

avatar

Piran

2

Hopefully this won’t be a one-off good performance & we’ve now started a run of successful Eurovision entries! 🤞

avatar

Damián

2

I really hope that friend! I've always thought that British pop is the best pop in the world, Swedish pop is so close, but I miss the days when UK charts were full of pop artists and great pop hymns

avatar

Piran

2

Both incredible nations for pop!

No wonder they’re two of the most successful countries in Eurovision history. :)

avatar

Damián

2

Oh yes, you're right!!
