Ayy Ava Max looking at a third week studying from her streaming numbers.

I clearly don't like 'Roses', it's too dark and downbeat of a song whereas dance songs should be colorful and upbeat. It's just another one of those songs by a complete no-name artist remixed by a no-name DJ who aren't gonna have another hit after this.

I thought all of the tracks from After Hours would've charted after all 18 from Starboy did!

Hope to see Melanie C's new single "Who I am" next week:

Wowwwwww..can't really believe how new hot tracks by Rita Ora, Ava Max went down in their second week and Elie Goulding just lasted one week!!-what's happening with British pop???

avatar

Piran

2

That new Dua Lipa album... it's so amazing!!! :D

I'll be back on here when I'm tired of putting 'Future Nostalgia' on repeat, haha.

avatar

Damián

1

It's a great pop album indeed, short but sweet

avatar

Piran

1

Yeah, my only real criticism is that it doesn't last longer!

Also, I did think the last two tracks weren't as good as the rest of the album in my opinion & there was some weird mixing elsewhere, but overall, a really awesome result. :)

Damián

1

Totally agree with you mate, though Boys will be boys seems a filler or a b side, has something of catchy. I think Hallucinate must be a single, imo

avatar

Piran

1

Yeah, 'Boys Will Be Boys' is just filler for me, not really suitable for an album closer.

'Hallucinate' definitely has potential to be a huge single, although there are others I'd choose before it such as 'Levitating' for example! ;)

Hopping in for the first time this week as a massive EDM/house lover! It's amazing to see 'Roses' hold the top spot for two weeks - it feels like forever since we last had a house song at the top of the charts! It's also amazing to see Lonely hit the top 5 as well as Flowers enter the top 40! I'm really excited about 220 Kid's Don't Need Love entering the top 100, as it's a song which I've had on repeat for a while now. I think Pour The Milk has a high chance of entering the Top 40, much like Pump It Up, due to the amount of viral success it's having at the moment! Only time will tell...

We still need the mix of Physical from the workout video without the background noise.

So this is Ava's second week with Kings & Queens and honestly I'm disappointed that it's falling off. Judging by the itunes and apple music I was expecting is to gain :(.
Hopefully the music video promotion is able to solidify a third week, I've also noticed that ever since sweet but psycho, she's just been exempt from radio.

Dance monkey still climbing is just unbelievable!
Also just me who’s noticed that Adore You just wont go away and is still hovering below the top 10?

Disappointed to see Kenny Rogers miss the Top 40. RIP!

So happy to see 2x DOJA CAT songs in the Top 40 this week but still hope the amazing SAY SO can finally make it to the Top 5 next week...and MABEL getting so close to a new Top 10 under her belt...

Okay, I'll get back to everyone's comments shortly, but first...

... this is something I've been doing for fun on Headline Planet for a few weeks now, so why not bring it here to Official Charts? It's called "The Emoji Challenge"!

How it works is that I reply to this post with 10 sets of images, each forming a song title! What you need to do is tell me what that song title is! So for example, if I put, 💃🌕, that would be 'Dancing In The Moonlight'. Another one could be, 💍💍💍💍💍💍💍, which is '7 Rings'!

Whoever guesses the song correctly gets a point & whoever has the most points wins.

This has done well on Headline Planet, so I'm hoping that you'll like here too! :)

Whoa.. I didn't expect a second week for 'Kings and Queens! :)
And if Dua had released her new single on friday, it would have been in the charts now. Now, we have to wait till the next week arrives. :)

Great news indeed but i still prefer much more AVA MAX than Dua...

Cool to see ‘Roses’ keep at #1 for a second week in a row, but thanks to The Weeknd’s new album coming out last week, ‘Blinding Lights’ will probably come off ACR for the next chart & go back to the top next Friday!

I’m also loving ‘Physical' leaping above 'Don't Start Now' to enter the Top 5 for the first time ever! I feel that it'll climb even further next week with Dua Lipa releasing ‘Future Nostalgia’ a week earlier than initially planned (in other words, it’s out today!).

Elsewhere, it’s awesome to see: ‘Lonely’, 'Boyfriend' & 'Tequila' hit new peaks! The debuts were mixed for me this week, but I really loved Nathan Dawe’s remake of ‘Flowers’.

Top 40 ratings & a quiz for everyone coming shortly! :)

I’m in love with tequila!! And really growing on mabels new song aswell! Completely agree with you here mate

Also I don’t know if you was listening to radio 1 but Scott spoke to nathan dawe and it was so nice to see his reaction at genuinely being so happy over reaching the top 40

avatar

Sergej Dordij

3

Glad that "Roses" is at #1, I also like the new peaks for "Lonely", "Boyfriend" and "Tequila"!

avatar

Piran

3

Hey Sergej! :)

I think this might be the final week for 'Roses' at #1, but I'm just glad it got here for two weeks.

'Lonely' has been resonating a lot with me lately because of the lockdown!

SH

Scott Harris

I don't know why 'Roses' became so popular, it's such a downer song.

avatar

Piran

Again, I agree for the original, but not the remix.

Dua's "Physical" top 5 and Mabel's almost top 10 now. Love it!
