FRANZ FERDINAND

Franz Ferdinand are a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 2002, and whose original line-up was composed of lead vocalist, musician and songwriter Alex Kapranos (born in Almondsbury, Gloucestershire, March 20, 1972), guitarist and keyboardist Nick McCarthy (born in Blackpool, December 13, 1974), bassist Bob Hardy (born in Dewsbury, Yorkshire, August 16, 1980), and drummer Paul Thomson (born September 15, 1976 in Glasgow), and since 2017 after McCarthy’s departure, keyboardist Julian Corrie (born June 20, 1985) and guitarist Dino Bardot (born May 8, 1971). Franz Ferdinand had all originally played in various Scottish bands such as The Kariela, The Yummy Fur, The 1990s and 10p Invaders before signing a deal in 2002 and releasing their debut song Darts Of Pleasure a year later. Franz Ferdinand achieved a string of hit songs such as Take Me Out, Michael, Do You Want To and Matinee, as well as a UK Official Albums Chart Number 1 with their self-titled debut in 2004.
