Following its rather unexpected (but wholly welcome) resurgence thanks to Saltburn, Sophie Ellis-Bextor has taken Murder on the Dancefloor to one of America's biggest late-night talk shows.

As it sits inside the Billboard Hot 100 in the States (59), and retains its peak position in the UK (2), Murder on the Dancefloor shows no sign of slowing down as it receives a glitzy performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

With a little help from Fallon's house band The Roots, Sophie made her debut on the NBC show as she continues to gain new fans across the pond.

Sophie's pal Natasha Bedingfield, who's also experiencing a chart resurgence with 2004 hit Unwritten, was loving the performance, commenting: "Icon!!!!!".

This comes as Murder on the Dancefloor receives a brand-new remix from Australian dance trio PNAU, known for their work on Elton John's chart-topping 2021 Dua Lipa collaboration Cold Heart.

Speaking on Murder on the Dancefloor's renaissance following its inclusion in Emerald Fennell film Saltburn, Sophie recently told Official Charts:

"I’m always very connected to my music, and one thing I’ve always loved about my work is its ability to surprise me. Murder on the Dancefloor is a song I’ve been singing for 20 years, and I’m on really good terms with it. I love singing it, I love performing it and what’s happening at the moment is kind of magical, actually.

"Thank you to all the fans new and old streaming the song and for such a magical adventure. I’m so proud of Murder on the Dancefloor, but I also share it with everybody who has love for it. I’m just having so much fun. Thank you!"
