US rapper B.o.B soars to the top of the Official Singles Chart with new release Airplanes featuring Paramore’s Hayley Williams climbing from last week’s number three, the Official Charts Company confirms today.
Airplanes, which had been in a three-way battle for the top spot with Eminem’s Love The Way You Lie featuring Rihanna, and Mark Ronson &The Business International’s Bang Bang Bang, first entered the chart seven weeks ago at number twenty-three.
Airplanes follows B.o.B’s breakthrough smash Nothin’ On You featuring Bruno Mars which debuted at number one in the Official Singles Chart in May and was also number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US. Both singles come from B.o.B’s Top 30 debut album B.o.B presents: The Adventures Of Bobby Ray.
There are three new entries in this week’s Official Singles Chart Top 10:UK rapper Professor Green is straight in at number five with Just Be Good To Green featuring Lily Allen, Mark Ronson &The Business International are straight in at number six with Bang Bang Bang and Eliza Dolittle’s Pack Up climbs to number eight from last week’s number twelve.
In the Official Albums Chart, Eminem’s Recovery is back at number one deposing last week’s best-selling album, Kylie Minogue’s Aphrodite to this week’s number two. Recovery has been number one for three of the four weeks since it has been released.
There are just two new entries in this week’s Official Album Chart Top 10: UK singer-songwriter and actress Eliza Dolittle’s self-named debut album Eliza Dolittle is straight in at number three and North London indie rock band Bombay Bicycle Club are straight in at number eight with second album Flaws.
